Brazil Begins AD Probe of Iron Pipe and Tube for Water/Sewage Applications
Brazil has initiated an AD investigation of certain mainland Chinese ductile cast iron pipe and tube for water and sewage applications, whether finished or semi-finished, with a pouch, tip and/or flange at the end, having a nominal diameter between 80 and 1,200 millimetres, having a thickness between K4 and K14 or a nominal pressure between PN10 and PN40, with or without an external or internal locking mechanism, with or without elastic seals or rubber rings, whether or not protected by protective sleeves, classified under NCM 7303.00.00. Brazilian authorities will send questionnaires to any known producers and exporters, which will have 30 days to complete and return them.
Colombia Begins AD Probe of Steel Tube
Colombia has initiated an AD investigation of certain welded carbon steel tube classified under HTSCO 7306.30.1000, 7306.30.9200, 7306.30.9900, 7306.50.0000, 7306.61.0000, 7306.69.0000 and 7306.90.0000 from mainland China. Parties wishing to participate in this proceeding are required to make themselves known to the relevant authorities by 26 May.
Argentina Terminates AD Duty Probe of Poly(methyl methacrylate) Plates and Sheets
Argentina has terminated without the imposition of any measures its AD duty probe of plates, sheets, film, foil and strip exclusively of poly(methyl methacrylate), non-cellular and non-metallised, of a thickness between two and 200 mm, whether or not presented with a disposable protective sheet on one or both sides, as well as plates, sheets, film, foil and strip exclusively of poly(methyl methacrylate), non-cellular and non-metallised, of square or rectangular construction with slightly rounded corners, whether or not combined with plastics all along the product’s perimeter, of a thickness between two and 200 mm, whether or not presented with a disposable protective sheet on one or both sides, classified under NCM 3920.51.00 and 3926.90.90, from mainland China.
Argentina’s AD Probe of Vacuum Cleaners Moves to Final Phase
Argentina has moved to the final phase of its AD duty investigation of vacuum cleaners with a self-contained electric motor, with a power of 2,500 watts or lower and a dust bag capacity no higher than 35 litres, except automated vacuum cleaners, classified under NCM 8508.11.00 and 8508.19.00, from mainland China. No provisional measures have been established, however.
Argentina Corrects Error in AD Duty Order on Ceramic Flags and Paving
Argentina recently issued an AD duty order on certain ceramic flags and paving classified under NCM 6907.21.00 from mainland China, imposing an AD duty of 27.7 percent for a period of five years. Argentinean authorities also accepted a price undertaking from Foshan Junjing Industrial Co. Ltd. that will require subject merchandise from that company to have a minimum FOB export price of US$11.30 per square metre or US$13.80 per square metre, depending on the product. These export prices have been amended to correct an error in the unit of quantity, which ought to be in square metres rather than units.
Canada Issues Results of Re-Investigation of AD/CV Measures on Rebar
The Canada Border Services Agency recently issued the results of an AD/CV re-investigation of the normal values, export prices and amounts of subsidy of certain mainland Chinese concrete reinforcing bar, as well as the normal value and export prices of subject merchandise from Hong Kong. The CBSA notes that neither the mainland Chinese government nor mainland Chinese exporters co-operated in this re-investigation. As a result, the agency has determined that effective from 4 May normal values for mainland Chinese merchandise will be based on the export prices of the goods advanced by 41 percent, while amounts of subsidy will total 469 renminbi per metric tonne. In the case of subject merchandise from Hong Kong, normal values will be based on the export price of the goods advanced by 108.5 percent.
