CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China
The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
Traeger Grills has recalled about 16,100 grills because grease can leak from the drip tray, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves Scout and Ranger portable wood-pellet fuelled grills. These grills are black-metal rectangular boxes with a clamshell opening for access to the grill. They are marked with the word “Traeger” and the Scout model also has an image of mountains on the top of the grill. The Scout has a curved silver handle on the front of the grill with a round dial to adjust the temperature. The Ranger has a straight silver handle on the front of the grill with a push-button touchpad to adjust the temperature. The grills are about 21 inches long, 20 inches wide and 13 inches high. The Scout weighs about 45 pounds and the Ranger weighs about 60 pounds, including its cast iron griddle. These grills were sold at Costco, Ace Hardware stores and other stores nationwide, as well as on-line, from March through July 2018.
Provata Health Inc. is recalling approximately 30,000 activity trackers because the tracker’s wristband can overheat while the user is wearing it or when charging, posing a burn hazard. This recall involves activity fitness trackers (wristbands) given to consumers as a free promotional giveaway from August 2017 through July 2018 in mailings nationwide and in-person during employer wellness events in Oregon, North Carolina and Arizona. The activity trackers feature a digital display, a charging terminal, a heart rate and a step detector with Bluetooth technology. They were distributed in black, blue or mint green and the packaging displays the word “Provata” and “Activity Tracker [colour]” printed on the front cover.
CFMOTO Powersports Inc. has issued a recall for about 5,300 all-terrain off-highway vehicles because the fuel hose can crack and fuel can leak from the vehicle, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves 2016-2018 CFORCE 400, 2017-2018 CFORCE 500S and 2017-2018 CFORCE 500HO ATVs with 400cc to 500cc, four-cycle engines. The “CFMOTO” logo is located on the front and rear grille, a “CFORCE” decal is on each side of the fuel tank, and the vehicle identification number is located under the seat on the top of the right side, top frame rail. These ATVs were sold in orange, blue, red and grey at CFMOTO dealers nationwide from November 2015 through July 2018.
Boy Scouts of America has announced a recall of some 110,000 neckerchief slides because the coloured enamel on these slides contains excessive lead levels. This recall involves brass neckerchief slides sold in four styles: red wolf, green bear, orange lion and blue Webelos. “Made in China” and P.O. number 200228276, 20023175, 200233281 or 200236630 are printed on a white label attached to the back of the neckerchief slide. These products were sold exclusively at Boy Scouts of America retail stores, by authorised distributors nationwide and on-line at www.scoutshop.org from February through August 2018.
IKEA Supply AG has recalled about 37,000 ceiling lamps because the glass shade on these lamps can detach and fall, posing impact and laceration hazards to consumers. This recall involves IKEA CALYPSO ceiling lamp units with manufacturing date codes between 1625 and 1744. The manufacturing date code is printed on a sticker on the light bulb socket base plate. These lamps were sold exclusively at IKEA stores nationwide and on-line at www.ikea-usa.com from August 2016 through July 2018.
Boy Story is recalling about 8,500 action dolls in the United States as well as approximately 40 action dolls in Canada because the joints on these dolls can break, creating broken pieces that pose a choking hazard to young children. This recall involves four styles of action dolls: Mason and Billy action dolls and the Mason and Billy HeForShe special edition action dolls. The recalled vinyl dolls measure four inches long by seven inches wide by 18 inches high. They also came with outfits consisting of a button-up shirt, white t-shirt and jeans. Boy Story LLC is stamped on the left foot of each doll. These dolls were sold on-line at www.biddleandbop.com as well as by small retailers from December 2016 through May 2018.
